Summary of Sunan Abi Dawud Hadith 1065
This Hadith is very direct. Jabir said that they were with the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) during a journey, and rain fell upon them. The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) then said that anyone who wanted to pray in his dwelling may pray. The Hadith about rain during travel shows a clear case of prayer ease. The condition in the text is rain while travelling. The wording also shows choice: “Anyone who wants.” It does not present prayer as something to leave. It gives room for people to pray in their own place when rain makes gathering harder. This is a simple teaching about care, ease, and practical worship under real weather conditions.
What we learn from this hadith
- Rain during a journey can bring ease in where a person prays.
- The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) allowed those who wished to pray in their dwelling.
- Prayer remains part of worship even when people do not gather in the usual place.
- The Hadith shows concern for people facing wet and difficult travel conditions.
