Summary of Sunan Abi Dawud Hadith 1172
This rain supplication hadith is short, but it gives a clear scene. Muhammad b. Ibrahim reported from a man who witnessed the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم that he saw him praying at Ahjar al-Zait while spreading his hands. The report does not give a long sermon, a full prayer format, or a detailed dua. It simply records what was seen: the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم in prayer and supplication with his hands spread. For people searching dua for rain hadith, this narration supports the idea that raised or spread hands were part of the visible manner in these reports. It is best read as a focused witness statement.
