Summary of Sunan Abi Dawud Hadith 1258
This two rak'ahs before Fajr hadith from Abu Hurairah is brief and strong in wording. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “Do not omit them,” referring to the two rak'ahs before the dawn prayer, “even if you are driven away by the horses.” The phrase points to a hard and urgent situation. The text itself teaches care for these two rak'ahs, even under pressure. It should not be turned into a claim that every person in every condition must act without any scholarly detail. Staying with the wording, the hadith shows that the two Sunnah rak'ahs before Fajr were treated with serious attention and should not be taken lightly.
What we learn from this hadith
- The two rak'ahs before dawn are the focus of the command.
- The hadith uses a strong image of pressure and danger.
- The wording teaches serious care for Fajr Sunnah.
- The narration does not discuss every possible personal situation.
