Summary of Sunan Abi Dawud Hadith 1288
This prayer after prayer hadith gives a short but strong lesson about protecting the time between acts of worship. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said that a prayer followed by a prayer, with no idle talk between the two, is recorded in Illiyyun. The hadith does not list many details. It focuses on one clear behavior: avoiding useless speech between prayers. This makes the time between two prayers feel valuable, not empty. A believer can use that time with silence, remembrance, or good words instead of talk that has no benefit. The phrase “recorded in Illiyyun” is exactly how the reward is described in the text, so the explanation should stay close to that wording.
What we learn from this hadith
- The hadith praises connecting one prayer to another.
- It warns against idle talk between acts of worship.
- The narration says such prayer is recorded in Illiyyun.
- Time between prayers should be treated with care.
