Summary of Sunan Abi Dawud Hadith 138
This Hadith focuses on wudu once. Ibn Abbas asked, “May I not tell you how the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم performed ablution?” He then performed ablution washing each limb once only. The narration is short, but it answers a common search question: can wudu be described with one wash for each limb in Hadith? Based on this text, Ibn Abbas showed a form of ablution where each limb was washed one time. The report does not give a long list of steps in the translation provided, and it does not discuss other counts. So the explanation should stay close to the wording. Its main lesson is that Ibn Abbas used a practical demonstration to teach the Prophet’s ablution.
What we learn from this hadith
- Ibn Abbas introduced the act as a way to show the Prophet’s wudu.
- The narration mentions washing each limb once only.
- The teaching was given through a practical demonstration.
