Summary of Sunan Abi Dawud Hadith 1848
This hadith gives a detailed answer about creatures a pilgrim in ihram may kill. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم mentioned the snake, scorpion, rat, biting dog, kite, and any wild animal that attacks a person. The narration also adds a special point about the pied crow: it should be driven away, but not killed. The core topic is dangerous animals in ihram. This hadith is useful because it separates different cases instead of treating all creatures the same. It shows that the sacred state of ihram has rules, and the text also mentions protection from creatures that attack or cause harm.
What we learn from this hadith
- Some harmful creatures are named as exceptions during ihram.
- The pied crow is treated differently in this narration.
