حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَمُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَلاَ تَقُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْنِي " . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَهَكَذَا رَوَاهُ أَيُّوبُ وَحَجَّاجٌ الصَّوَّافُ عَنْ يَحْيَى . وَهِشَامٌ الدَّسْتَوَائِيُّ قَالَ كَتَبَ إِلَىَّ يَحْيَى . وَرَوَاهُ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ سَلاَّمٍ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ يَحْيَى وَقَالاَ فِيهِ " حَتَّى تَرَوْنِي وَعَلَيْكُمُ السَّكِينَةُ " .
Abu Qatadah Narrated from:
The prophet (ﷺ) said; When the Iqamah for prayer is pronounced, do not stand until you see me. Abu Dawud said: this has been narrated by Ayyub and Hajjaj al-Sawwaf from Yahya and Hisham al-Duatawa’i in a similar way, saying : Yahya wrote to me (in this way). And this has been narrated by Mu’awiyah b. Sallam and ‘Ali b. al-Mubarak from Yahya: “Until you see me and show tranquility”.
[1] There are three meanings for Tathwīb in relation to the Adhān , two of them preceded and they are from the Sunnah : When the Mu'adh-dhin reaches either phrase including: "I testify that" then he repeats it aloud after saying it silently to himself. See no. 500 and those after it. The second is when the Mu'adh-dhin says: "Prayer is better than sleep" during the Adhān for Fajr , see also no. 500. The third — and it is thought to be the type referred to here — is what At-Tirmidhī cited in his Sunan (after no. 198) from Ishāq bin Ibrāhīm: "It was something innovated by the people after the Prophet ﷺ. It is when the Mu'adh-dhin calls the Adhān and the people are slow in coming, so between the Adhān and the Iqāmah he says: " Qad qāmatiṣ-ṣalāt (prayer has been established) Hayya 'alaṣ-ṣalāt (come to prayer) Hayya 'alal-falāh (come to success)."Reference : Sunan Abi Dawud 539In-book reference : Book 2, Hadith 149English translation : Book 2, Hadith 539
