Sahih Bukhari 3699 — Companions of the Prophet
The virtues of 'Uthman bin Affan ﵁
وَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ يَحْفِرْ بِئْرَ رُومَةَ فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ». فَحَفَرَهَا عُثْمَانُ. وَقَالَ: «مَنْ جَهَّزَ جَيْشَ الْعُسْرَةِ فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ». فَجَهَّزَهُ عُثْمَانُ.The Prophet ﷺ said, "He who digs the well of Ruma will have Paradise." 'Uthman dug it. He also said, "He who equips the army of Al-'Usra (i.e., Ghazwa of Tabuk) will have Paradise." 'Uthman equipped it.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّ أَنَسًا ـ رضى الله عنه ـ حَدَّثَهُمْ قَالَ صَعِدَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أُحُدًا، وَمَعَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَعُثْمَانُ، فَرَجَفَ وَقَالَ " اسْكُنْ أُحُدُ ـ أَظُنُّهُ ضَرَبَهُ بِرِجْلِهِ ـ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ إِلاَّ نَبِيٌّ وَصِدِّيقٌ وَشَهِيدَانِ ".
Anas Narrated from:
The Prophet (ﷺ) ascended the mountain of Uhud and Abu Bakr, `Umar and `Uthman were accompanying him. The mountain gave a shake (i.e. trembled underneath them). The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Uhud ! Be calm." I think that the Prophet (ﷺ) hit it with his foot, adding, "For upon you there are none but a Prophet, a Siddiq and two martyrs."
