حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِنَّكُمْ مَحْشُورُونَ، وَإِنَّ نَاسًا يُؤْخَذُ بِهِمْ ذَاتَ الشِّمَالِ، فَأَقُولُ كَمَا قَالَ الْعَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ {وَكُنْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًا مَا دُمْتُ فِيهِمْ} إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ }"
Ibn 'Abbas Narrated from:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You will be gathered (on the Day of Resurrection) and some people will be driven (by the angels) to the left side (and taken to Hell)whereupon I will say as the pious slave (Jesus) said:- - "And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them...the ALMIGHTY, the All Wise." (5.117-118)

Summary of Sahih Bukhari Hadith 4626
This hadith about resurrection is short, but its warning is deep. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said that people will be gathered, and some will be taken to the left side. He will then speak with words like those of the pious slave in the Qur’an: he was a witness while he was among them, but after he was taken, Allah was the Watcher over them. The hadith points to a serious truth: what a person does after receiving guidance matters. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم is not claiming hidden knowledge of what every person did after him. The wording teaches that Allah’s knowledge and watching are complete, while people are responsible for their own path.
What we learn from this hadith
- The gathering on the Day of Resurrection is real and serious.
- A person’s later actions still matter after receiving guidance.
- Allah is the Watcher over all people.
- No one should feel safe from accountability.
