"And on the heir is incumbent the like of that..."
وَضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلاً رَجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا أَبْكَمُ} إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: {صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ}.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ قَالَتْ هِنْدُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ رَجُلٌ شَحِيحٌ فَهَلْ عَلَىَّ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ آخُذَ مِنْ مَالِهِ مَا يَكْفِينِي وَبَنِيَّ قَالَ " خُذِي بِالْمَعْرُوفِ ".
A'isha Narrated from:
Hind (bint `Utba) said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Abu Sufyan is a miser. Is there any harm if I take of his property what will cover me and my children's needs?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Take (according to your needs) in a reasonable manner."

Summary of Sahih Bukhari Hadith 5370
This Hadith is another narration about Hind and Abu Sufyan. Hind said that Abu Sufyan was miserly and asked whether there was harm in taking what would cover her and her children’s needs. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم replied that she should take in a reasonable manner. The Hadith about taking what is sufficient is very clear in its wording. It does not speak about taking without limit. It connects the action to need and reasonableness. The teaching is practical for family life: basic support matters, children’s needs matter, and any taking in such a case must stay within what is fair and known as proper.
