Summary of Sahih Bukhari Hadith 6013

This Hadith about being merciful to others is short, clear, and direct. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said that whoever is not merciful to others will not be treated mercifully. The wording teaches that mercy should be part of a believer's dealings with people. It is not limited in this text to family, friends, or people of one status. The phrase points to a broad habit of mercy in conduct. A person who wants mercy should not live with a hard heart toward others. The Hadith is also a reminder that religious character is shown in how we treat people. Mercy is not only an emotion; it is seen in patience, gentle words, and kind behavior.
