Abu Hurairah Narrated from:
Two women from Hudhail fought with each other and one of them hit the other with a stone that killed her and what was in her womb. The relatives of the killer and the relatives of the victim submitted their case to the Prophet (ﷺ) who judged that the Diya for the fetus was a male or female slave, and the Diya for the killed woman was to be paid by the 'Asaba (near relatives) of the killer.

Summary of Sahih Bukhari Hadith 6910
This Hadith about Diya explains a legal judgment given by the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) after two women from Hudhail fought. One woman struck the other with a stone, causing the death of both the woman and what was in her womb. The case was brought to the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم), showing that serious harm and loss of life must be handled through judgment, not personal revenge. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ruled that the Diya for the fetus was a male or female slave, and the Diya for the killed woman was to be paid by the near relatives of the killer. The main message is about justice, responsibility, and legal compensation in cases of wrongful killing.
What we learn from this hadith
- Serious disputes should be judged through proper authority.
- The life of the unborn child was given legal consideration in this case.
- Blood-money was assigned according to the Prophet’s judgment.
