Following the Sunna of the Prophet (saws)

Hammam Narrated from:
Hudhaifa said, "O the Group of Al-Qurra! Follow the straight path, for then you have taken a great lead (and will be the leaders), but if you divert right or left, then you will go astray far away."

Summary of Sahih Bukhari Hadith 7282
This report contains advice from Hudhaifa to the Qurra, the people known for reciting and knowing the Qur'an. He told them to follow the straight path, saying that if they did so, they had taken a great lead. But if they turned to the right or left, they would go far astray. For readers searching for a hadith about the straight path, the message is plain: knowledge should lead to steadiness, not wandering away from guidance. The warning is especially strong because it is addressed to people associated with Qur'an recitation. The Hadith does not give details of a specific dispute. It focuses on the need to remain upright and avoid side paths that move a person away from truth.
What we learn from this hadith
- People of Qur'an should be careful to stay straight.
- Guidance requires steadiness, not drifting to extremes.
- Knowledge brings responsibility.
