Summary of Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith 1184
This Hadith gives a brief answer about Qunut after Ruku. Muhammad said that he asked Anas bin Malik about Qunut, and Anas replied that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم recited Qunut after Ruku. The report is focused and does not mention the prayer name in the translation, nor does it give the words of the Qunut. It only tells us where Qunut happened in this narration: after Ruku. This matters for people searching for qunut after ruku hadith, because some narrations mention Qunut before Ruku while this one mentions after it. The safe explanation is that this Hadith records one reported position of Qunut from Anas, without adding details not found in the text.
What we learn from this hadith
- Anas was asked about Qunut and answered from what he knew.
- This narration places Qunut after Ruku.
