Summary of Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith 1802
This short Hadith gives a strong lesson about the manners of a Zakat collector. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said that the collector should not return unless the people are pleased with him. The wording points to fairness, gentle dealing, and avoiding harm when taking Zakat. It does not mean pleasing people by ignoring what is due. Rather, within the Hadith text, the focus is on the collector’s conduct and how people feel after he deals with them. A person appointed over Sadaqah should not be harsh or unfair. This Hadith is useful for searches about Zakat collector hadith, Islamic financial ethics, and fairness in Sadaqah collection.
What we learn from this hadith
- A Zakat collector should deal with people in a pleasing manner.
- Public duty should be carried out with fairness.
- Collecting Sadaqah should not become a cause of resentment.
- Good manners matter when handling people’s wealth.
