Sunan Ibn MajahHadith Number 3305
حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْخَلاَّلُ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ الْجَزَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجُهَنِيُّ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَبِي مَشْجَعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " سَيِّدُ طَعَامِ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا وَأَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ اللَّحْمُ " .
Abu Darda’ Narrated from:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The best food of the people of this world and the people of Paradise is meat.’”
[1] There are two names for gourd, squash and pumpkin. Dubbâ' is also mentioned regarding utensils used to hold wine and Nabîdh , see Hadîth no. 3401. It was a type of gourd used for that purpose, that would absorb some of the wine, and a prohibition against using it was stated due to that, and according to the majority, it was later abrogated.
