حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " لاَ عَدْوَى وَلاَ طِيَرَةَ وَلاَ هَامَةَ وَلاَ صَفَرَ " .
Ibn 'Abbas Narrated from:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “There is no ‘Adwa, no omen, no Hamah and no Safar.”*
[1] Hāmāh & Safar : Other superstitious beliefs rejected by Islam. Safar is a disease that afflicts the abdomen, and it is not a contagious one. Hāmāh was interpreted differently in pre-Islamic beliefs.
