Summary of Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith 3806
This famous hadith teaches the value of two phrases: Subhan-Allahi wa bi hamdihi and Subhan-Allahil-Azim. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم described them in three clear ways. They are light on the tongue, heavy in the Balance, and beloved to the Most Merciful. This makes the hadith easy to remember and easy to act on. The words are not hard to say, but the hadith tells us they carry great weight. It is a strong reminder that dhikr does not have to be long to be meaningful. A believer can say these words often, while knowing the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم described them as beloved to Allah, the Most Merciful.
What we learn from this hadith
- Some words of dhikr are easy to say but heavy in the Balance.
- Subhan-Allahi wa bi hamdihi and Subhan-Allahil-Azim are beloved to the Most Merciful.
- The tongue can earn great reward through short words of remembrance.
