Summary of Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith 3922
This hadith about dream interpretation is short, but its meaning is very direct. The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said that he saw two wristbands of gold on his arms. He then blew into them, and he interpreted them as two liars: Musailimah and ‘Ansi. The core point is not a general rule about every dream with gold. It is the Prophet’s own dream and his own explanation of it. The hadith uses simple symbols: two gold wristbands, an action of blowing, and then the named meaning. For readers searching for the hadith of Musailimah and Ansi, this narration shows how the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) explained what he saw without leaving the meaning open to guesswork.
What we learn from this hadith
- The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) interpreted this dream himself, so the meaning is taken from his words.
- The two wristbands were linked in the text to Musailimah and ‘Ansi.
- Not every dream symbol should be explained by guesswork.
- The hadith warns by naming two liars in the Prophet’s interpretation.
