حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، مُسْلِمِ بْنِ مِشْكَمٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ غَيْلاَنَ الثَّقَفِيِّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ آمَنَ بِي وَصَدَّقَنِي وَعَلِمَ أَنَّ مَا جِئْتُ بِهِ هُوَ الْحَقُّ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ - فَأَقْلِلْ مَالَهُ وَوَلَدَهُ وَحَبِّبْ إِلَيْهِ لِقَاءَكَ وَعَجِّلْ لَهُ الْقَضَاءَ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُؤْمِنْ بِي وَلَمْ يُصَدِّقْنِي وَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَنَّ مَا جِئْتُ بِهِ هُوَ الْحَقُّ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ فَأَكْثِرْ مَالَهُ وَوَلَدَهُ وَأَطِلْ عُمْرَهُ " .
‘Amr bin Ghailan Ath-Thaqafi Narrated from:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “O Allah, whoever believes in my and knows that what I have brought is the truth from You, decrease his wealth and his children, and make the meeting with You dear to him, and hasten his death. Whoever does not believe in me and does not know that what I have brought is the truth from You, increase his wealth and his children and make his life long.’”

Summary of Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith 4133
This hadith is a supplication of the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم. In it, he asks Allah concerning the one who believes in him, affirms him, and knows that what he brought is the truth from Allah. The prayer asks for that person’s wealth and children to be decreased, for the meeting with Allah to be made dear to him, and for his death to be hastened. Then the narration mentions the one who does not believe or know the truth, asking that his wealth and children be increased and his life made long. This hadith about faith and worldly attachment is serious in tone. The main point from the wording is that faith and loving the meeting with Allah are placed above increase in worldly things.
