حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَهَارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " يَقُولُ اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ الْكِبْرِيَاءُ رِدَائِي وَالْعَظَمَةُ إِزَارِي فَمَنْ نَازَعَنِي وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمَا أَلْقَيْتُهُ فِي النَّارِ " .
Ibn 'Abbas Narrated from:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Allah the Glorified, says: ‘Pride is My cloak and greatness My robe, and whoever competes with Me with regard to either of them, I shall throw him into Hell.”

Summary of Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith 4175
This narration from Ibn Abbas carries the same grave message about pride. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said that Allah, the Glorified, says: “Pride is My cloak and greatness My robe.” Whoever competes with Him in either of them will be thrown into the Fire. The hadith is not soft in tone because pride is not a light matter here. It teaches that greatness belongs to Allah, while the servant’s place is humility. A person may own things, hold status, or receive respect, but none of that gives him the right to act arrogantly before Allah.
