`Abdullah bin `Umar Narrated from:
I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say on the pulpit: ‘The Compeller (Al-Jabbar) will seize His heavens and His earths in His Hand’ – and he clenched his hand and started to open and close it – ‘Then He will say: “I am the Compeller, I am the King. Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant?” And the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was leaning to his right and his left, until I could see the pulpit shaking at the bottom, and I thought that it would fall along with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).”

Summary of Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith 4275
This hadith about Allah as the King shows the greatness of Allah and the smallness of arrogance. Ibn Umar heard the Prophet say on the pulpit that the Compeller will seize His heavens and earths in His Hand. The Prophet then described Allah saying: I am the Compeller, I am the King. Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant? The narration also describes the Prophet moving to his right and left until the pulpit shook. The lesson is direct: worldly power, tyranny, and pride do not stand before Allah’s kingship. The hadith speaks about Allah’s authority and the end of false greatness. It should make a person lower his pride and remember who the true King is.
What we learn from this hadith
- Allah is described as the Compeller and the King.
- Tyrants and arrogant people are called out in this narration.
- Human pride is shown as weak before Allah’s complete authority.
