حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الطَّنَافِسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " الإِيمَانُ بِضْعٌ وَسِتُّونَ أَوْ سَبْعُونَ بَابًا أَدْنَاهَا إِمَاطَةُ الأَذَى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ وَأَرْفَعُهَا قَوْلُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَالْحَيَاءُ شُعْبَةٌ مِنَ الإِيمَانِ " . حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الأَحْمَرُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلاَنَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ نَحْوَهُ .
Abu Hurairah Narrated from:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Faith has sixty-some or seventy parts, the least of which is to remove a harmful thing from the road and the greatest of which is to say La ilaha illalah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). And modesty is a branch of faith.'" Another chain from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet (ﷺ) with similar wording.

Summary of Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith 57
This famous Hadith about branches of faith teaches that Iman is not only one action. It has sixty-some or seventy parts. The highest part mentioned is saying La ilaha illallah, the statement that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah. The lowest part mentioned is removing something harmful from the road. The Hadith also says modesty is a branch of faith. This gives a balanced view of Islam: faith includes belief, words, manners, and helpful actions. Even a simple act like clearing harm from a path has religious value when done sincerely. The Hadith makes faith feel active and practical.
