Summary of Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith 649

This hadith about nifas gives a clear time statement. Anas narrated that the Messenger of Allah set the time for postnatal bleeding at forty days, except for one who becomes pure before that. The wording includes both parts: forty days as the set time, and an exception when purity appears earlier. This makes the narration more specific than a simple mention of forty days alone. It should be explained without adding cases that are not in the text. For people searching for postnatal bleeding forty days hadith or nifas in Islam, this report gives a short and direct answer from the narration.

What we learn from this hadith

  • The report sets the time of postnatal bleeding at forty days.
  • The text includes an exception for one who becomes pure before forty days.
  • The hadith gives a clear and practical wording on nifas.
  • The explanation should keep both the time limit and the early purity exception together.
