حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، وَحَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " الأَرْضُ كُلُّهَا مَسْجِدٌ إِلاَّ الْمَقْبَرَةَ وَالْحَمَّامَ " .
Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri Narrated from:
The Messenger of Allah said: 'All the earth is a mosque, except for graveyards and Hammam.'

Summary of Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith 745
This hadith about all earth being a mosque teaches ease in prayer while also naming exceptions. The Messenger of Allah said that all the earth is a mosque, except for graveyards and Hammam. The phrase shows that prayer is not limited to one building. When prayer time comes, a Muslim can pray in many places, as long as the place is suitable and not from the exceptions mentioned here. The hadith also protects the respect of prayer by excluding graveyards and Hammam. Its teaching is balanced: Islam gives wide room for worship, but it also gives boundaries for where prayer should not be performed.
