Mishkat al-MasabihHadith Number 2284
وَعَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ: مَا عَمِلَ الْعَبْدُ عَمَلًا أَنْجَى لَهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ. رَوَاهُ مَالِكٌ وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّ وَابْنُ مَاجَه
Mu'adh bin Jabal Narrated from:
A man does nothing more calculated to rescue him from God’s punishment than making mention of God.” Malik, Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.
