Mishkat al-MasabihHadith Number 5217
وَعَنْ شَدَّادٍرضي الله عنه قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُول: «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا عَرَضٌ حَاضِرٌ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهَا الْبَرُّ وَالْفَاجِرُ وَإِنَّ الْآخِرَةَ وَعْدٌ صَادِقٌ يَحْكُمُ فِيهَا مَلِكٌ عَادِلٌ قَادِرٌ يُحِقُّ فِيهَا الْحَقَّ وَيُبْطِلُ الْبَاطِلَ كُونُوا مِنْ أَبْنَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ وَلَا تَكُونُوا مِنْ أَبْنَاءِ الدُّنْيَا فَإِنَّ كل أم يتبعهَا وَلَدهَا»
Shaddad Narrated from:
Sayyiduna Shaddad رضي الله عنه narrated that he heard Allah's Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم say, "O you people! The world is perished property of which the pious and the evil eat. And the hereafter is a true promise in which a Just and omnipotent king will judge, He will establish the truth and eliminate the false. (The true and false will be distinguished through reward and punishment). So, be you among the sons of the hereafter and be not among the sons of the world, for every mother is followed by her child." [2]
