Mishkat al-MasabihHadith Number 5758
وَعَن أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَتَى وَجَبَتْ لَكَ النُّبُوَّةُ؟ قَالَ: «وَآدَمُ بَيْنَ الرُّوحِ وَالْجَسَدِ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ
Abu Hurairah Narrated from:
When God's messenger was asked when the office of prophet had been established for him, he replied, "When Adam had not yet had his spirit joined to his body." Tirmidhi transmitted it.
