Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 1254c
This hadith gives two short historical points from Zaid b. Arqam. First, he says the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم fought nineteen battles. Second, he says that after the Migration, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم performed only one pilgrimage, known as Hajjat al-Wada, the Farewell Hajj. The report is brief, so the explanation should stay brief and clear too. It does not describe the details of the battles, and it does not give the rites of Hajj. It simply records a count and identifies the pilgrimage after Migration. For users searching “how many battles did Prophet Muhammad fight” or “Farewell Hajj hadith,” this narration is mainly a concise historical record.
What we learn from this hadith
- The narration records nineteen battles connected to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم.
- It states that after the Migration he performed one Hajj.
- That Hajj is identified as Hajjat al-Wada, the Farewell Hajj.
- Short reports can preserve key historical counts.
