حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ أَفْلَحَ - أَخَا أَبِي الْقُعَيْسِ - جَاءَ يَسْتَأْذِنُ عَلَيْهَا وَهُوَ عَمُّهَا مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ بَعْدَ أَنْ أُنْزِلَ الْحِجَابُ قَالَتْ فَأَبَيْتُ أَنْ آذَنَ لَهُ فَلَمَّا جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَخْبَرْتُهُ بِالَّذِي صَنَعْتُ فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ آذَنَ لَهُ عَلَىَّ .
A'isha Narrated from:
Aflah, the brother of Abu'l-Qu'ais, who was her uncle by reason of fosterage, came, and asked her permission (to enter the house) after seclusion (Hijab) was instituted. I refused to admit him. When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came, I informed him what I had done. He commanded me to grant him permission (as the brother of her foster-father was also her uncle).

This foster uncle mahram hadith shows A'isha acting carefully after the command of seclusion had been instituted. Aflah, the brother of Abu'l-Qu'ais, came and asked permission to enter. He was her uncle through fosterage, but she still refused to admit him until she could ask the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم. When the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم came, she told him what she had done. He commanded her to grant him permission. The hadith teaches that fosterage can create a close family status, and it also shows A'isha's caution. She did not ignore privacy rules, yet she accepted the Prophet's صلى الله عليه وسلم clarification when it was given.
