Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 1707c
This hadith is a very short note saying that the same report is narrated on the authority of Sufyan. The report it points to is Ali’s statement about imposing hadd and the special caution he mentioned in the case of a drunkard. In the previous wording, Ali said that if a drunkard died during punishment, he would pay indemnity, because the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم had laid down no fixed rule for it. This entry does not add a new ruling or a new event. Its purpose is to preserve another route for the same statement. So a Sahih Muslim 1707c explanation should focus on transmission and the same wine hadd topic, not create extra detail beyond the text.
What we learn from this hadith
- This narration supports the same Ali report through Sufyan.
- It does not add a new event in the translated wording.
- The linked topic remains caution in the punishment of a drunkard.
