Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 1952a
This short hadith is direct and easy to understand. Ibn Abu Aufa reported that they went on seven expeditions with the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم and ate locusts. The text does not give a long discussion or a detailed ruling. It simply records what happened with the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم present in those expeditions. Because of that, it is often searched as “hadith about eating locusts” or “are locusts halal in Islam.” The strength of the narration is in its plain wording: the Companions ate locusts during several journeys linked to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. The hadith also shows that real food practices from the Prophet’s time were preserved in simple reports, not only in long legal answers.
