وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَابْنُ، بَشَّارٍ - وَاللَّفْظُ لاِبْنِ الْمُثَنَّى - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا إِسْحَاقَ، يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ، يَخْطُبُ وَهْوَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " إِنَّ أَهْوَنَ أَهْلِ النَّارِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَرَجُلٌ تُوضَعُ فِي أَخْمَصِ قَدَمَيْهِ جَمْرَتَانِ يَغْلِي مِنْهُمَا دِمَاغُهُ " .
An-Nu'man bin Bashir Narrated from:
Nu'man b. Bashir was delivering an address and saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: the least suffering for the inhabitants of Hell on the Day of Resurrection would be for the man under whose soles would be placed two embers and his brain would boil on account of them.

This hadith about the least torment on the Day of Resurrection was reported from Nu'man b. Bashir while he was delivering an address. He said that he heard the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) say that the least suffering for the inhabitants of Hell on the Day of Resurrection would be for a man under whose soles two embers would be placed, and his brain would boil because of them. The hadith is a strong warning. It shows that even what is called the least suffering is still deeply painful. The report does not ask the reader to compare people or guess who the man is.
