Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2177c
This narration reports the same Hadith from Ibn Umar through another chain, with a small wording difference. The supplied text notes that the phrase about making room and widening space is not mentioned here. It also includes the question about Friday, and the answer shows that the ruling applies on Friday and other days. The core teaching remains seating etiquette in Islam: do not make a person stand from his place so that you can sit there. This Hadith about respecting seats keeps the matter simple. A Muslim should not use pressure or status to take someone’s place. Fairness and calm manners should be kept in gatherings.
What we learn from this hadith
- The rule of not removing someone from his seat is not limited to Friday.
- Small wording differences can still carry the same main teaching.
- A person should respect another person’s place in a gathering.
- Good manners apply in regular gatherings and Friday gatherings.
