حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ الرُّقَى فَجَاءَ آلُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ كَانَتْ عِنْدَنَا رُقْيَةٌ نَرْقِي بِهَا مِنَ الْعَقْرَبِ وَإِنَّكَ نَهَيْتَ عَنِ الرُّقَى . قَالَ فَعَرَضُوهَا عَلَيْهِ . فَقَالَ " مَا أَرَى بَأْسًا مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَنْفَعَ أَخَاهُ فَلْيَنْفَعْهُ " .
Jabir Narrated from:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) prohibited invocation. Then the people of Amr b. Hazm came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said: We know an invocation which we use for curing the sting of the scorpion but you have prohibited it. They recited (the words of invocation) before him, whereupon he said: I do not see any harm (in it), so he who amongst you is competent to do good to his brother should do that.

Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2199e
This hadith gives an important statement about beneficial ruqyah. Jabir reported that Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) had prohibited ruqyah, so the people of 'Amr b. Hazm came to him. They said they had an invocation used for curing scorpion stings, but they stopped because of the prohibition. They recited it before him. After hearing it, he said that he did not see any harm in it, and that whoever among them was able to do good to his brother should benefit him. The hadith is clear that the ruqyah was shown first, then approved. It is a strong search match for no harm in ruqyah, ruqyah without harm, and help your brother hadith. The teaching is practical: useful help should be offered in a safe and allowed way.
