Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2218e
This entry states that the plague Hadith was narrated through another chain from Ibn Juraij with wording close to the previous report. The value of this narration is that it supports the same meaning through a different route of transmission. The related wording in this group centers on plague as a calamity or disease and on the instruction not to enter a land where plague has broken out and not to flee from a land where one already is. People searching for plague hadith or hadith about not entering a plague land are looking for this clear teaching. Since this particular entry is brief and focused on the chain, the explanation should not add new rulings or stories. It simply points back to the same Prophetic guidance preserved in another chain.
What we learn from this hadith
- Do not enter a land after hearing that plague has broken out there.
- If plague breaks out where someone already is, the report says not to flee from it.
- The Hadith describes plague as a calamity or punishment linked to earlier people.
- The teaching encourages careful movement and steadiness during a serious outbreak.
