Abu Sa'id reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The similitude of mine and that of the Apostles; the rest of the hadith is the same.

Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2286d
This narration from Abu Sa'id reports the same final brick parable in a shorter way. It begins with the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم saying, My example and the example of the prophets, and then mentions that the rest of the Hadith is similar. So its meaning follows the same picture: a fine building is complete except for one brick, and the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم is that brick. Since this version is brief, its value is in supporting the same teaching through another Companion. The Hadith about the final brick keeps the same central point: the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم has a completing role in the line of the prophets before him.
What we learn from this hadith
- This report supports the final brick parable through Abu Sa'id.
- The narration keeps the same meaning as the fuller reports.
- The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم is presented as completing the example of the building.
