Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2303e
This narration repeats the report from Anas about the Cistern’s jugs. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم says that jugs of gold and silver would be seen in it, as numerous as the stars in the sky. A transmitted addition says they are more numerous than the stars in the sky. The explanation should stay with this image of abundance. The Hadith does not ask us to imagine details not stated, but it does give a strong picture of the Cistern’s vessels. For search terms like Hadith al-Hawd vessels, gold and silver jugs hadith, and Cistern more numerous than stars, this report gives one of the clearest wordings.
