Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2318b
This narration states that the same Hadith has been reported through another chain of transmitters. Since it points back to the previous report, the teaching remains the same: Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) kissed Hasan, and when a man said he had never kissed any of his ten children, the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) replied that the one who does not show mercy is not shown mercy. The value of this narration is that it preserves and repeats the message through another route. It keeps attention on mercy to children, loving behavior, and gentle family conduct. The Hadith is simple enough for daily life: children should not be treated with coldness, and mercy should appear in our actions.
What we learn from this hadith
- The same mercy teaching is preserved through another chain.
- Affection toward children is treated as part of mercy.
- The Hadith warns against a cold and harsh attitude.
