Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2447d
This Hadith about Gabriel greetings to Aishah shows a tender moment in the home of Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم). The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) told Aishah that Gabriel was offering her greetings. Aishah replied with peace and the mercy of Allah. She then said that Gabriel sees what she does not see. The wording is simple, but it carries a clear message: greeting with salam is honored, and replying with a good greeting is a beautiful act. The Hadith also points to Aishah's special place, since Gabriel's greeting was conveyed to her through the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم). The explanation should stay within the text: the narration shows greeting, reply, and Aishah's awareness that unseen matters were beyond her sight.
What we learn from this hadith
- Returning salam with peace and mercy is a noble response.
- Aishah received a special greeting conveyed by the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم).
- The narration reminds readers that some unseen matters are known only by Allah's permission.
