Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2465b
This narration gives a question-and-answer wording about collecting the Qur'an. Hammam says he asked Anas b. Malik who collected the Qur'an during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم. Anas answered: four people, all from the Ansar. He named Ubayy b. Ka'b, Mu'adh b. Jabal, Zaid b. Thabit, and a man from the Ansar whose kunya was Abu Zaid. The core search phrase is who collected the Qur'an during the Prophet's lifetime. The hadith is simple and direct. It lists names and gives the Ansar connection. It does not add further details about method, order, or later collection, so the explanation should stay with the wording given.
What we learn from this hadith
- Anas answered a direct question about who collected the Qur'an.
- The report names four people, all from the Ansar.
- Abu Zaid is identified here by his kunya as a man from the Ansar.
