Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2480b
This Hadith about Umm Sulaim and Anas is a shorter supporting report. Anas says that Umm Sulaim said to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, “Allah’s Messenger, here is your servant Anas.” The narration then says the rest is similar to the previous report. That means the focus remains the same: a mother brings Anas to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and asks for supplication. The Prophet’s dua, as shown in the related wording, was for increase and blessing. For this specific text, we should not add extra stories. The safest point is that Anas was presented as a servant of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, and Umm Sulaim wanted the Prophet’s blessed prayer for him.
What we learn from this hadith
- Umm Sulaim cared for Anas and asked for dua.
- Anas is described as the Prophet’s servant in this report.
- This narration supports the fuller wording of the dua for Anas.
