This hadith has been narrated on the authority of `Ali b. `Abd al-Rahman with the same chain of transmitters and there is no mention of the word of al-Ribat in the hadith transmitted by Shu`ba and in the hadith narrated by Malik "Ribat" has been mentioned twice. This is the "Ribat" for you, this is the "Ribat" for you.

Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 251b
This narration is about the wording of the famous hadith on wudu, walking to the mosque, and waiting for the next prayer. It states that the same report came through the chain of Ali b. Abd al-Rahman, but one version did not mention the word Ribat, while Malik's version mentioned Ribat twice. The main topic is still prayer and steady worship, but the special point here is how the wording was preserved in different narrations. It does not add a new action beyond what is found in the related report. Instead, it helps readers notice that some transmitters included the repeated phrase, this is the Ribat for you.
What we learn from this hadith
- The report preserves a wording difference between narrations.
- The phrase Ribat is connected to the earlier actions of wudu, mosque steps, and waiting for prayer.
- Some narrations repeat the word Ribat for added emphasis.
- The hadith shows care in reporting exact wording.
