Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2602a
This narration from Jabir reports a hadith like the previous one, with a slight wording difference: it includes the phrase purity and reward. The report is brief, but its meaning is tied to the same theme. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم asked Allah that what came from him toward a Muslim in the form of harsh words or similar matters should be turned into a good outcome for that Muslim. This hadith about purification and reward should be understood from the wording given: it does not praise cursing as a habit. Rather, it highlights the Prophet's supplication that Allah make such a matter a source of zakah and reward for the Muslim concerned.
What we learn from this hadith
- This narration preserves the wording purity and reward.
- The report is linked to a merciful supplication for a Muslim.
- It should not be read as encouragement to curse others.
- The wording shows a request for Allah to bring good from a hard matter.
