Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2862b
This Hadith focuses on the severe scene of the Day of Resurrection sweat. It is transmitted from Ibn Umar with a slight variation in wording. The report says that one of the people would be completely submerged in perspiration up to half of his ears. The wording is short, but its meaning is serious. It points to the weight of standing on the Day of Judgment and the fear people will face. The Hadith does not give extra details here about who that person is. It only shows the intense condition of some people through the image of sweat reaching high around them.
What we learn from this hadith
- The Day of Resurrection will include a severe standing for some people.
- The Hadith teaches fear of accountability before Allah.
- Even a slight wording variation can preserve the same core meaning.
- The image of sweat reminds a believer to take the Hereafter seriously.
