Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2939c
This Hadith is mainly about transmission. It says the report has been narrated on the authority of Ismail through other chains of transmitters with a slight variation of wording. One added wording says, O my son. The narration itself does not add a new description of Dajjal’s food, water, or signs beyond pointing back to the same report. Its value is in showing that the Dajjal hadith was carried through more than one route with small wording differences. The teaching from the text is careful preservation: the narrator tells us what is the same, what is slightly different, and where an added phrase appears.
What we learn from this hadith
- This narration highlights other chains of transmission for the report.
- It mentions slight variation in wording rather than a new event.
- The added phrase O my son is specifically noted in one version.
- The Hadith shows care in recording wording differences.
