Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 3000c
This narration says that the Hadith was transmitted through Shu'bah with a slight variation of wording. It points back to the same teaching about praising people carefully. In the related wording, the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) warned that excessive praise can harm the person being praised and taught that praise, if needed, should be spoken with caution. The key idea is not to claim full knowledge of someone's purity or hidden state. This Hadith about praise reminds the speaker to be careful with words. Even good words can become harmful when they are too strong or spoken without limits.
What we learn from this hadith
- The warning about praise is reported through another chain.
- Praise should not be excessive or careless.
- A speaker should avoid claiming full knowledge of someone's inner state.
- Careful words protect both the speaker and the person praised.
