Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 727c

This report is brief, but it still has value for anyone studying the hadith about Fajr Sunnah recitation. It states that the same hadith was transmitted through another chain of narrators, like the report of Marwan al-Fazari. The text does not add a new prayer action or a new verse. Its main point is that the earlier narration about what the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم recited in the two Sunnah rak‘ahs before Fajr came through another route as well. So the core topic remains the Sunnah prayer before Fajr and the Prophet’s recitation in it. This should not be treated as a separate new practice, because the provided text only says it is another transmission of the same report.

What we learn from this hadith

  • This narration points to another chain for the same Fajr Sunnah report.
  • It does not introduce a new wording of recitation in the translation.
  • It supports studying the Prophet’s prayer through carefully transmitted reports.
