وَحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّارِمِيُّ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، حَدَّثَنِي سِنَانُ بْنُ أَبِي سِنَانٍ الدُّؤَلِيُّ، وَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأَنْصَارِيَّ، وَكَانَ، مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَخْبَرَهُمَا أَنَّهُ غَزَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم غَزْوَةً قِبَلَ نَجْدٍ فَلَمَّا قَفَلَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَفَلَ مَعَهُ فَأَدْرَكَتْهُمُ الْقَائِلَةُ يَوْمًا ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ وَمَعْمَرٍ .
Jabir bin `Abdullah Al-Ansari Narrated from:
Jabir b. 'Abdullah al-Ansiri, who was one amongst the Companions of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ), reported that he went on an expedition along with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) towards Najd and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) stayed there, and when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came back he also came back along with him. They, for one day, stayed for rest; the rest of the hadith is the same.

Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 843d
This narration reports the same incident through another route. Jabir b. Abdullah al-Ansari, one of the Companions, joined the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم on an expedition toward Najd and returned with him. During a rest stop, the same event is mentioned: a man took the Prophet’s sword while he was asleep and stood over him. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم responded to the threat by saying Allah when asked who could protect him. Because this version says the rest of the Hadith is similar, its main value is that it supports the same message: trust in Allah, calmness during danger, and the protection granted to the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم. It also shows how repeated chains carried the same core event.
