حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ، قَالَتْ أَمَرَنَا - تَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم - أَنْ نُخْرِجَ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ الْعَوَاتِقَ وَذَوَاتِ الْخُدُورِ وَأَمَرَ الْحُيَّضَ أَنْ يَعْتَزِلْنَ مُصَلَّى الْمُسْلِمِينَ .
Umm 'Atiyyah Narrated from:
He (the Messenger of Allah) commanded us that we should take out unmarried women and the screened away ladies for 'Id prayers, and he commanded the menstruating women to remain away from the place of worship of the Muslims.

This Hadith speaks about women at Eid prayer. Umm Atiyya says the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم commanded them to take out unmarried women and screened-away ladies for the two Eid prayers. The narration also says menstruating women were commanded to remain away from the place of worship of the Muslims. The wording is careful. It does not say all women prayed in the same way. It separates those who came out for Eid from the menstruating women who stayed away from the prayer place. The main message is that Eid was a public gathering in which women were included, while the prayer space was still treated with care according to the condition mentioned in the text.
